Dr Vivek Radhakrishnan, Assistant Professor, Philosophy, SIAS, published an article titled Pōrkkālattil Tattuvam Tīṭṭiya Ākspōrṭu Nālvar (“The Oxford Quartet Who Forged Philosophy during Wartime”) in the November issue of Nīli Magazine. The article discusses the lives and works of four women philosophers (Elizabeth Anscombe, Philippa Foot, Iris Murdoch and Mary Midgley) who met as students at Oxford during the Second World War and went on to revive moral philosophy by challenging the then dominant subjectivist attitudes in ethics.
